Jak jste se dostala ke své profesi a co bylo nejtěžší na vašich začátcích?
Ke své profesi jsem se dostala přirozenou cestou. Už v dětství mě velmi bavilo přešívání starého oblečení mých rodičů a zajímala jsem se o módu. Začala jsem proto studovat módní návrhářství jak na střední škole, tak i později na vysoké škole v Liberci. Už v průběhu studia jsem si však začala uvědomovat, jak je módní průmysl neekologický, neetický a neudržitelný. Po škole jsem se utvrdila v tom, že nechci být součástí této absurdní mašinérie, která požírá sama sebe. Naštěstí v tomto období jsem znovu objevila Upcyklaci (prodlužování životnosti produktů) a hned jsem věděla, že to je přesně to, co jsem hledala. Upcyklace totiž není jen prodlužování životnosti věcí nebo recyklace, je to především zdravý přístup k oblečení. Je to také cesta, kterou můžete projevit svůj názor a nesouhlas se současným neudržitelným módním průmyslem a jít lidem příkladem.
K mým začátkům – faktem je, že se stále nacházím na začátku. Moje značka je velmi mladá a já rostu spolu s ní. Hlavně co se týká podnikatelské stránky, v které mám značné rezervy a musím vynakládat opravdu velké úsilí, abych se jako rozlítaný umělec udržela v přísném režimu a počítala všechny čísla.
Čím se zabýváte ve své tvorbě, specializujete se na něco konkrétního?
Momentálně se zabývám již zmíněnou upcyklací odloženého oblečení. V minulosti bylo toto prodlužování životnosti oblečení běžnou součástí většiny domácností, protože lidé si oblečení vážili. Mnozí si šili a pletli vlastní jedinečné kvalitní kousky a když svetr, jenž nosili, už nepotřebovali, tak ho rozpárali a upletli z něj svetr pro své děti. S příchodem konzumního způsobu života se změnil i přístup k oblečení. Lidé se přestali věnovat textilu a řemeslům a místo toho nakupují kvanta laciného oblečení z dovozu. A pod tlakem reklamu a hektické doby si nevšimli opuštěných továren a zruinovaného průmyslu.
Prostřednictvím své tvorby chci poukázat na tuto problematiku a učit lidi lepší udržitelný přístup k odívání. Odložené oblečení různě upravuji. Buď pomocí střihů nebo pomocí drapáže ho upravuji rovnou na figuríně. Oděv většinou rozložím a složím jej do jiné formy pomocí šití, materiál někdy i barvím, atp. Snažím se, aby výsledný produkt byl jednoduchý a nositelný na každodenní činnosti. Z tohoto důvodu upřednostňuji jednoduchost před málo nositelnou uměleckou tvorbou. Chci ženám nabídnout dobrou alternativu k řetězcům fast fashion.
